movimiento slow fashion

Boiled wool fabric (lana cotta) comes from the post-industrial waste of the fashion industry and would have ended up in landfill. Be sustainable and use it for your sewing project. Give it a second chance, save finite natural resources and contribute to the circular economy. Ideal for making garments such as coats, jackets and capes, due to its greater density and ability to provide effective thermal insulation.

The term “boiled wool” refers to a fabric that has gone through a process called “fulling” or “felting,” which involves treating the wool with heat, water and friction. This process shrinks the fibers, creating a denser, more compact fabric with a firm texture. During fulling, the wool is washed and subjected to movements such as shaking or whipping, which contracts the fibers. The result is a tighter, stronger and often warmer fabric, as the shrunken fibers retain heat better.
